My interest in medicine - both conventional and alternative - must be in my genes...Doctors, acupuncturists, nurses, osteopaths, psychiatrists and homeopaths are all in the family! Using the power of one's own body to heal itself - or ideally to prevent illness - makes total sense to me and led to my enrolling on an workshop in Indian Head Massage ten years ago and a subsequent change of career.
Since then, I've completed Diplomas in Aromatherapy, Swedish, Body, Acupressure and Sport & Remedial Massage in Birmingham as well as various other related courses.
I undertook further advanced training at the London School of Sports Massage, resulting in a BTEC Diploma in Sport & Remedial Massage.
Further qualifications, workshops and courses attended:
- Reiki Levels I and II
- Thai Massage
- Postural Assessment & Correction
- Myofascial Release
- Further Anatomy Studies (Imperial College, London)
I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage.
I became self-employed in 2006 and have been lucky enough to use my skills in a wonderfully diverse range of settings on a wide variety of bodies! As well as building up a loyal corporate and private client base in the West Midlands, I also have clients in London and the NorthWest.
I have worked at sporting events such as the London Marathon and Triathlon and on a charity cycle ride from Land's End to John O' Groats, as well as at a boot camp in Spain. I have also worked at conferences and corporate teambuilding days and health and wellbeing events and with musicians and dancers at festivals and shows around the country.
Back home in Brum, I volunteer my services locally at charity events and homeless shelters.
